Over the past few months we’ve been migrating all of our course management features directly into the course creator (and adding a few new features along the way!). This makes it easy to change management settings and invite learners from within a course, streamlining your user experience and making everything you love about Versal a lot more convenient. Here’s a quick overview:
Now when you enter a new or existing course, you will see two tabs in the upper left corner: Edit and Manage. To create your course or edit content, simply click the Edit tab.
To access course settings, learner invites and more, click the Manage tab. Here you will find all of the options previously available in our classic course management console. In the interim, the classic console is still available, but we will eventually phase it out.
We’ve also added several great new features to the new Manage tab.
Under “Settings”, you’ll now see options to hide the table of contents by default for learners. Of course they can still access the table of contents by clicking on the hamburger menu (three horizontal lines), but this new option allows authors to offer learners a distraction-free learning canvas.
You can also choose to hide lesson titles at the top of your course canvas, which can be useful if you are using hero images at the top of each course page.
Lastly, we’ve added a new setting that authors can use to ensure that learners can’t skip to a subsequent lesson until they reach the bottom of the current lesson or course page.
You can now search through your learner list to find particular learners and track their progress. No more hunting for that one learner to see if they’ve completed your course :).
Notice that the CSV spreadsheet export for overall learner data is now located at the arrow to the right of the invite learner button.
Reporting for Certificates
You may notice an inactive Certificate tab under the Reports tab. This means that certificate reporting is coming soon!
We’re in the final phases of the transition to the new in-creator management console, and if you have any feedback, please email us at email@example.com. We’d love to hear from you!
