On May 25, 2018, the new EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) will come into effect, creating a unified data protection legislation across all EU member states.
At Versal, your privacy has always been a top priority. Today, teams across Versal are busy finalizing our GDPR processes. And while GDPR regulations are specific to people in the European Union, many of these updates will benefit our customers around the world.

How Versal is preparing for GDPR
GDPR Planning: Across Versal, our teams have been auditing our product features and marketing processes to assess GDPR compliance. This process has the full support of our executive team and will be an ongoing effort to ensure compliance now and in the future.
Data Protection Officer: We have appointed a Data Protection Officer (DPO) to oversee our privacy and data protection compliance.
Data Processing Addendum: Customers located in the EU or doing business in the EU will need to sign a Data Protection Addendum (DPA). For your convenience, we have posted a pre-signed version of this document on our Website. To execute this agreement, please download the PDF, sign it, and send it to firstname.lastname@example.org.
Vendor Compliance: We are conducting a GDPR-compliance review with all vendors who process personal data, and have DPAs collected and available to you. Please email us at email@example.com for a complete list of Versal data sub-processors.
Data Portability: Versal is committed to data portability. Course content may be easily moved to other systems and LMSs by downloading a SCORM package from within your course settings. In our paid versions, learner data is also available for download as a .csv.
New Opt-in Options for Email and Customer Communications: After you sign up for Versal, we definitely want to stay in touch with you and share product news, tips, and special offers. Under GDPR, new EU customers will need to actively opt-in to continue receiving these communications. We hope you will, and we promise to respect your inbox and make sure these messages are valuable and relevant to you. And as always, it is easy to unsubscribe at any time.
Account Deletion: In your Account settings, we’ve added a convenient way for you to reach out to Versal if you ever wish to delete your account. Because deleting your account may result in the loss of your courses or loss of access for your learners, our team is happy to assist you. If you are a member of an Organization account, you may need to contact the account owner to delete your account.
Privacy Shield Certification: Versal is currently pursuing Privacy Shield certification to ensure the privacy of our customers while using our services.
Our team is putting the final touches on our GDPR preparations in anticipation of the May 25th, 2018 deadline. We will continue to update this post with relevant links or new information.
